When Rome became the ruling power in the 2nd century BC, some cities of the Greek world willingly included the cult of the goddess Rome into their civic pantheon for pragmatic reasons. From this inscription it is obvious that the cult of Thea Roma was introduced in Teos, too. The cult of Roma was closely connected with that of the goddess Fides, the deification of good faith and honesty. Here the Teian citizen Straton, son of Hestiaios, announces his appointment as priest of Roma and Fides Publica. The monument was erected in the 2nd century BC.
As priest of Roma and Pistis is appointed Straton, son of Hestiaios.
