Within the scope of the restoration works carried out with the budget of the Turkish Historical Society (TTK), the renovation of the analemma walls of the Bouleuterion, the building where the city council convened in ancient cities, continues meticulously.
These analemma walls are known as important marble block walls that carry the seating levels in the building and provide both structural support and aesthetic integrity.
In the first phase of the restoration, the existing blocks were analyzed in a two-dimensional environment and positioned in harmony with each other. After ensuring a statically appropriate layout, reinforcement works were completed.
Instead of the missing blocks, new marble blocks were cut and added to the structure in accordance with the original texture. Thus, the south analemma wall was brought back to its feet in accordance with its original structure.
In the next phase of the works, the restoration process of the north analemma wall will continue.
